On the weekend of Nov. 3,  the Rhodes Chi Omega sorority hosted an event dubbed “Wings for Wishes.” During this event, the sorority sold plates of chicken wings and hosted a wing-eating contest. Their main goal for organizing was to promote and spread awareness for Make-A-Wish Mid-South, which grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to improve their condition and raise their spirits.

The initial goal for the fundraiser was to raise $500, but Chi Omega doubled that, making upwards of $1000.  Although the event was solely hosted by Chi Omega, local businesses Bosses and Ching’s contributed by donating wings for the cause. There were two rounds of wing-eating contests and only one winner for each: Owen Kelley ’21 and Will Schupp ’20, who won $15 gift cards to Hueys.
